Rights and What to Expect
- Foster parent guidelines and expectations are outlined in Department of Community Based Services’ The Foster Parent Handbook Manual
- Foster parents have rights and responsibilities that are outlined in KRS 620.360
Support

Foster Parent Mentor Program is a mentor-mentee program established UK College of Social Work with the Department of Community Based Services to support foster parents.

To meet the needs of children placed in their home, foster parents can receive benefits through the Cabinet for Health and Family Services’ KY FACES website.

Kentucky Foster and Adoptive Parent Training Support Network is a statewide organization for foster/adoptive parents. The Network is composed of 15 regional teams of experienced foster/adoptive parents who work to provide support and training to current foster/adoptive parents and recruit new homes for Kentucky’s waiting children.

- Language Access Supports:
- Office of Language Access promotes, enhances, and supports justice by assisting the Kentucky Court of Justice in communicating with the deaf and hard of hearing and those with limited English proficiency (LEP). Allows an individual to request an interpreter in advance.
- Kentucky Commission for Deaf and Hard of Hearing provides information, referral and advocacy services, and an interpreter referral service for state agencies.
- LACES (Language, Access, Communication, Empowerment, Support) Program Aetna Better Health of Kentucky offers a Value-Added Benefit to Aetna SKY members who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
