Foster Youth

A child who has been committed to the Cabinet for Health and Family Services as dependent, neglected, or abused

 Foster Parent

Persons who provide foster care services to children who have been committed to the custody of the state

 Birth Parent

The biological or adoptive mother or father of a child

Kinship or Fictive Kin Caregiver

A qualified caretaker who is a relative or close family friend with whom the child is placed as a result of an investigation and removal by the Department of Community Based Services (DCBS)
