Rights and What to Expect
- Child Removal Parent Handbook outlines guidelines what parents should do when a child is removed from their care, including a parent’s rights and responsibilities.
- Dependency Neglect and Abuse Booklet includes information on how dependency, neglect, and abuse cases are processed including the court process, parents’ rights and responsibilities, and definitions of words used in child-involved cases.
- KRS Chapter 620 outlines processes and procedures related to dependency, neglect, and abuse cases.

KY SEAT is a council of biological parents—both mothers and fathers—who have past experience with the child welfare system and who advocate to decision makers.

Fatherhood Engagement by the Commonwealth Center for Fathers and Families is an initiative that supports and uplifts fathers, including grants, training, and advocacy work.

- Language Access Supports:
- Office of Language Access promotes, enhances, and supports justice by assisting the Kentucky Court of Justice in communicating with the deaf and hard of hearing and those with limited English proficiency (LEP). Allows an individual to request an interpreter in advance.
- Kentucky Commission for Deaf and Hard of Hearing provides information, referral and advocacy services, and an interpreter referral service for state agencies.
- LACES (Language, Access, Communication, Empowerment, Support) Program Aetna Better Health of Kentucky offers a Value-Added Benefit to Aetna SKY members who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
