Rights and What to Expect

  • Child Removal Parent Handbook outlines guidelines what parents should do when a child is removed from their care, including a parent’s rights and responsibilities.
  • Dependency Neglect and Abuse Booklet includes information on how dependency, neglect, and abuse cases are processed including the court process, parents’ rights and responsibilities, and definitions of words used in child-involved cases.
  • KRS Chapter 620 outlines processes and procedures related to dependency, neglect, and abuse cases.

KY SEAT is a council of biological parents—both mothers and fathers—who have past experience with the child welfare system and who advocate to decision makers.
